I’m Gillian, a BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist based in Scotland. My Work is grounded in person-centred theory but what matters most to me is the kind of space therapy can offer. In a world that often feels fast-paced, demanding and full of expectation, I believe therapy can provide something different. Time to slow down, be heard, and begin to make sense of yourself without pressure or judgement.
I believe many of us move through life carrying more than we realise. We adapt, cope, push through, hold things together, and sometimes lose touch with ourselves along the way. This can happen through the roles we take on, the expectations placed on us, or the parts of ourselves we learned to quieten in order to keep going.
For me, therapy is not about becoming someone else. It is about having space to question old stories, reconnect with your own voice, and begin to move through life in a way that feels more honest and aligned.
I typically work with clients on a weekly basis, although fortnightly sessions may also be possible depending on your needs and availability. For some people, therapy may last a handful of sessions. For others, it can become a longer term space for reflection and support. There is no expectation to commit to a fixed number of sessions, and we can regularly review together what feels helpful for you.
